'ĀINA

‘Āina (land)

As the sun goes to sleep and the moon emerges from the ocean’s depths, Hawaiʻi is a vibrant mosaic of colors. Blood-red oranges and pink-purple hues create a beautiful backdrop to the land. Our ʻāina has seen many changes throughout its history from the time our ancestors first landed on these shores to the development of the land by foreigners for commerce. Through these images, we hope to reconnect people to the spirit of this land and to honor this wahi pana (special place) we call home.
